Before I explain, I'd like to say that just because someone likes MLP doesn't mean I automatically will hate them for that. Just because someone doesn't have all the same interests as I do doesn't mean I can't be friends with them. So don't worry.
I have watched the series, and I hate the music so much. The music is so annoying for me to hear, and in fact, from the episodes I saw, sometimes I actually muted the volume in fear that I might get an annoying song like that stuck in my head, and thank goodness I haven't. That's pretty much telling me something right there. You may not know this, but I happen to be a big fanatic of Soundtracks from TV shows, Movies, and Video Games. I listen to soundtrack music a lot, and my iPhone music is loaded with tracks of those sorts too. In fact, for of my ideas for my various art, projects, games, and other stuff I make, many times I get ideas for stuff in them after listening to Soundtrack Music of some sort, and then imagining another type of scenario that would go well with that music.I usually take a series's Soundtrack to mind when it comes to how much I like it, and for My Little Pony, the Soundtrack is awful. Its like torture to my ears when hearing it.
I've never enjoyed Lauren Faust's shows in the first place. I've seen other shows by Lauren Faust too before, but I never have ever liked them, even when I was younger. MLP is no different here. The only exception is Wander over Yonder. Not to mention she wrote the worst episode of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
MLP has some of the worst and most unlikable villains in a series that I have ever seen.
They aren't very cool or threatening or anything, they don't really do that much harm or destruction or anything, and the way the Ponies defeat them in the end is absolutely stupid. I've seen some pretty dumb bad guys in other series, but the bad guys in MLP have to be among some of the most moronic and unlikable that I have ever seen.
One main villain I've seen in it is Discord, who is apparently a Chimera-like Spirit of Chaos who is awakened after being petrified for many years, and then goes out to finish whatever the hell he was doing before. And what does this insanely-powerful spiritual being do for his Master Plan? Well, he assumes on deceptive forms and tries to tell the Ponies to do stuff for him, he dances on their heads, he turns the clouds into Cotton Candy raining chocolate milk and drinks it from the sky, he turns all their houses into cardboard, he pours massive things of pepper on them to make them sneeze, and essentially uses his magic to go around being an idiot in front of everyone. And then we have his absolutely moronic Evil One-Liners.
Seriously, I've heard more awesome-sounding One-Liners from Team Rocket, and Team Rocket are also extremely dumb and unlikable bad guys in my opinion. Plus, he doesn't look very cool or neat at all either. He doesn't do anything really awesome and villainous, like obliterates entire cities and causes mass genocide, amasses an army of minions to enforce his rule, creates towering robotic WMD's to impose his dark reign, forces the cities into a totalitarian society where you either do what he says or you suffer, or anything awesomely evil like that. Discord is just plain stupid.
I understand the more lighthearted peaceful scenario to it, but for MLP I don't enjoy the way they do it. The stuff that happens in the series I just don't like, their jokes are not very funny, and a lot of the time, it is annoying to me in the way that show such as Dora the Explorer or Care Bears is.Love and Tolerance my rear end! That's the kind of stuff that they'd teach to you in shows I used to watch in Kindergarten, and In fact, I never watched something like that as a kid. I watched Invader Zim, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, The Ren and Stimpy Show, and Rocko's Modern Life, among other shows that clickbait journo sites say "aren't for kids anymore". I admit I do watch some things that aren't so action packed, but the ones I like do it right. Those one do this sort of lighthearted peaceful and cute in a good way, for the jokes are more funny and relatable, the plots and scenarios are more enjoyable, and the show doesn't bring to mind a dumb Nick Jr or Disney Junior show. SpongeBob does this well. MLP is not like any of those, and it sucks because of that too.
Well, this concludes my ranting on all the reasons why I think My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic, is one of the worst shows I have ever seen. I've stated all my reasons for it, and I hope you understand now. I know that some of you may think different, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to like you just because of that. I still will like you for who you are anyways.
